Our Value for Money Statement

How does Greenoak define VfM?

Greenoak defines VfM as the most advantageous combination of cost, quality and sustainability to meet and exceed the needs of our residents.
In this context:

  • Cost means the price we pay for goods and services.
  • Quality means the standard of service that we provide.
  • Sustainability means that we will consider the on-going economic, social, and environmental impact of our decisions.

How will Greenoak deliver VfM?

Greenoak will deliver VfM by:

  • Listening and learning from our residents’ feedback
  • Actively managing homes and other assets to consider their financial and environmental impact.
  • Using data to investigate and challenge underperformance.
  • Setting challenging VfM targets which align to our corporate objectives.
  • Working with others to understand our impact on the wider community.
  • Having sound systems and processes in place to ensure VfM is a consideration of key decisions.
  • Developing a VfM culture across the organisation.
  • Deploying digital transformation to increase choice and reduce the costs, in consultation with residents.

Greenoak will measure VfM by:

  • Reporting and setting targets against the Regulator of Social Housings (RSH’s) VfM metrics.
  • Making our VfM performance accessible to our residents.
  • Understanding the environmental and social impact of our assets.
  • Comparing our performance with peers and our own trend.
  • Reporting operational performance such as how much rent we collect, how quickly we re-let our homes and how well we manage complaints.

Greenoak will also report its performance in the annual financial statement of accounts as well as the annual report to residents. These can be found in our publication section. Greenoak will also continue to consider the use of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) reporting.
